So what’s Drink Through This?

Drink Through This is a new newsletter from two guys discovering good beers in tough times.

Who’s behind it?

Mike and Brian are drinking through it.

Why’d you name it that?

There’s an ad on TV these days assuring Americans that together, no matter how tough things may seem with the pandemic, we will ultimately get through this. Times like these bring focus on what’s truly important, it says, and you’re not alone. We’re not alone. It’s a message we couldn’t agree with more. As we all retreated indoors in the early weeks of the outbreak, our favorite craft breweries found a way to stay open. Most of them are still brewing, still selling cans curbside, delivering local or across the state. But pretty much all of them have lost what’s likely their primary customer base — bars, restaurants, and beer lovers coming to their taprooms. So that’s where we come in. Mike and Brian are drinking their way through the best beers they can get their hands on.

What should I expect

A few times a week you’ll get a newsletter from us highlighting the special beers we were lucky enough to enjoy. We’ll tell you the basics — how we got it, how you can too, ABV, etc. — and then we’ll tell you more.

Our reviews aim to go beyond the typical, “This tastes like hops and mangos,” because honestly, we’ve never tasted a mango in a beer.

Beers, to us, taste great. It’s how they make us feel that matters.

We’re all in it together

But Drink Through This can be bigger than two beer-drinking guys on a mission. You can drink through this, too. Mike and Brian invite you to tell us about the special beers you’ve gotten your hands on in recent weeks. Reviews are fine, sure, but we want to know how those beers moved you. What’d you learn when you enjoyed it? How’d it make you feel.

Where do you get the beers?

We buy our beers direct from the breweries and either pick them up or have them delivered.

Can my brewery send you some?

What? Free beer. No. We couldn’t… wouldn’t… OK, fine, yes, we accept beers to review. But we can’t promise a review — we only recommend beers we’d happily drink ourselves. To partner, email Brian at moneyries@gmail.com.
